This is certainly worth keeping an eye on. According to the reports the Matla plant is still producing despite the wildcat strike. Given how Eskom has been bumping up (and occasionally surpassing) capacity a few hours each week for the last two months, a 3,600 megawatt (10%) reduction in capacity would lead to load shedding. Eskom workers aren't legally able to strike over wages. Regardless of the reason, Eskom will either need to resolve it quickly or risk major disruption of power. The winter chill will keep demand high.
