I remember years ago buying everything at Best Buy as I grew up in Minnesota--they always seemed to have the best prices. Now, people like myself use the store as a handy free demo service to find out what to buy on-line at Amazon, Walmart, etc. I don't see how their tremendous investment in bricks and mortar is a viable business model going forward--when earnings barely budged after the demise of Circuit city it really shows how fast they are headed down into the abyss. Maybe not tomorrow but soon.
I agree 100%. If I need something, I check out Target first. If Target doesn't have it, I'll go online and get it from Amazon or Ebay. Best Buy rarely has the best prices and they simply won't be able to sustain margins with the overhead related to their hundred of stores. Best Buy will go the way of Circuit City and Blockbuster.
Gave you a five start rating. I couldn't have expressed it better myself. I am also from Minnesota.
I think the concept of the "bricks and mortar" electronics stores is done. Like you I was hoping that the demise of Circuit City would be a big boost for BBY. Turns out it was just a 'warning shot' across the bows.
To make my 'plight' even worse, i also own some RSH. You talk about a loser!!
