    Starting to look like we got the shaft from D@ck!

    How is buying calls outright a less risky option than owning the shares? The risk if the shares go down is limited to the share price fall. The risk to options if the share price falls is much more severe, plus if the stock does nothing the options halve due to time decay

    The only way calls are less risky is if you are buying the stock on margin and get called if the stock drops or if you are selling calls maybe. With buying calls you don't have that margin risk as you aren't able to buy calls without maintenance requirements anyway
