    Information about NEXS?

Is this a board for NEXS stock or a place for garbage advertisements?

    • cptntito,

I think there is a definite shortage of investable paper to play the LED theme...I won't argue sticking to the larger companies with better working capital and track records...I happen to like micro/small cap investing...higher risk, yes, but much larger return potential IMO...

I diagree however that chip manufactures hold the keys to the value creation as LED's take over general illumination. LED's for the most part are commodities, general illumination will provide a new growth market, but the industry has plenty of capacity and although I own CREE, it will be hard pressed to dominiate Nichia, Samsung, Seol Semi and others...
The Array Line by NEXS is unique due to its Selective Heat Sink technology, the company is chip agnostic and will use what ever diode proves to provide the best performace, but even the best LED's won't perform if you can't get the heat off...Side by side, there is nothing out there that even compares to the new NEXS bulb line...Made from recycled plastic, very light and perhaps more important, it can be manufactured much cheaper then others because it requires no hand labor...there are no wires, screws, grease and it doesn't look like a 500lb missile with fins like the others out there...I can't say that someone won't try to copy it, but that's why patents exist I guess....I don't think Phillips paid almost a billion for CK because they felt like getting bogged down in legal battles....I also think the space is so big that I'm casting a wider net...Your chosing larger plays and I respect that....I think the Array Line is game changing technology for NEXS and for the market...There was nothing at LF even close and I wasn't the only one saying or thinking it....Best of luck to you...

    • I don't mean to sound negative, just cautious. I realize that NEXS does not plan to invest heavily in RGB, and for this reason I was pointing out the misguidance of a parallel to Color Kinetics.

I too went to LightFair in Las Vegas, and white LED's were everywhere. To think that these guys have a unique enough product that a competitive technology cannot be produced at a lower cost by one of the major players is absurd. While waiting the paradigm shift in general area lighting to LED technology, I will look to with the integration companies that have better working capital and track records.

The real value will be in the diode manufacturer's themselves as this technology passes through critical mass into universal application: CREE, Nichia, Lumileds, etc.

    • You sound really negative, are you short perhaps? Or trying to buy it lower...If you think the Array Launch of LED bulbs by NEXS is some johnny come lately, boy are you in for a surprise...Base business was in decline because the legacy business was mostly pool and spa related and although its not the focus of the company going forward, the business was up 31% last Q....The company is using the base business as a platform to add revenues via acquisitions led by an ex-Cooper Lighting exec. The company does very little in RGB and does't plan to....They have over 30 patents themselves and are growing revenues rapidly...I went to LightFair, saw the products myself and saw the response...You my friend, don't get it....That's what makes a market...

    • There's a much poorer one -- LSCG.OB It's done a 1:10 reverse split, but seems to be headed up lately. Now, THAT one is the mystery to me. The reason is a strategic alliance with another independent player in this area (though not a pure play) -- AYI. I picked some AYI up this morning after a technical breakout.

    • Thanks. I got to Seoul Semi, but couldn't get any investor information even though they're a public company over there. I'm starting to see
LED lighting all over the place - tail lights, for instance. I'm going to start checking for brand names.

    • jdust,

I think the South Korean Company you refer to relates to the new NEXS Savi AC Flood, which essentially allows you to use direct line voltage without the use of power supply, which typically have 15-20K hour lifes and are costly...The company providing the AC chip is Seoul Semi. As for other companies, there is a real lack of investable paper to play the LED theme....LSCG, I can't figure out the market cap justification. CREE is a name I own, but its not gone unnoticed for sure...EFOI isn't really an LED player, but wants to act like it...hemorraging cash...lots of others claiming energy efficient lighting etc. NEXS seems to be positioning itself for general illumination white light market...I'm looking forward to seeing what the new product launch entails...

    • I think LED lighting is going to blow CFLs off the shelves when the public learns about the technology and product lines expand. EDs last longer, and don't use mercury in the manufacturing process - two huge advantages. Nexxus is using some technology from South Korea, but I never could track down any way to buy into that company. Do you know of any other public companies in this field?

    • I do think that NEXS is lightyears ahead of CLRK/Phillips in white LED/general illumination. I am very very curious what the company will be debuting at LightFair for sure. In fact, rather then bicker over what the valuation should be, let's try to find out more about the product intro's....I know the AC Flood light has caught some attention and the Savi white lines are going very well....The PR release seems to suggest its something in general illumination..."significant opportunities for growth in the general illumination `white light' market,” stated Mike Bauer, President / CEO of Nexxus Lighting." Seems to suggest the product/s are some new light source, fixture, LED bulb....

    • Let me help you out. Microsoft doesn't produce digital lighting systems.

    • i am interested. i am interested in figuring how this company is worth 50 million dollars?????????????????

i could MAYBE understand 10 million on a good day. but seriously wtf!
