Longs hold on tight. The time to buy is when things seem the bleakest. The core businesses ex-coal for PZB are very solid and earnings should begin to grow from the $2.00 EPS base. Fair value is currently in the $20's and any earnings growth will eventually push this stock into the $30's. The market can't sell indiscriminantly forever!!!
Rumour has it that BAX has changed the incentive plan for sales(again). This may prompt a good many qualified sales people to head to greener pastures. Another wonderful morale booster from C Bob and his brilliant crew. Now BAX sales reps have average service and high rates to sell, along with a less lucrative bonus plan. Sure would make me want to work there!!!!
Hey dancin'fool, I am surprised by your negative comments concerning the sales incentive. As any Senior VP of Human Resources will tell you, the way to get sales people to work harder is to lower their incentive pay. Here's how the math breaks down:
Old Incentive Program 2(Hardwork)=x
New incentive Program 4(Hardwork)=x
So you see that, where variable x equals the salespersons commission, twice as much work is now created for (x)commission.
The preceding message is a reminder that highly compensated HR executives are much more intelligent than you might think. In fact, I might go out on a limb in this case and say that the SVP of HR at BAX can even cipher!
