Simple answer.....BCE (Bell Canada Enterprises) along with other large Canadian companies trade on the NYSE to gain credibility in the eyes of global investors. Very few people in the world have heard of the TSE or view Canada as a major economy worthy of their investment dollars. As a result many Canadian companies use acronyms as their global company names and/or logos to hide the fact that they are based and conduct a major portion of their business in Canada.
