SPR, GKNCF.PK 10:31 AM Spirit AeroSystems (SPR +7.9%) pulls back a bit as Jefferies dismisses the chances of a potential takeover by GKN (GKNCF.PK) after the recent completion of a large deal with Volvo Aero. The firm says GKN would be 2.5x leveraged following any SPR deal, and GKN isn't interested in SPR's propulsion business.
Spirit labor costs too high. I beleive this stock is hyped up. Spirit like many other US companies pay too much to the American Employees. Well China will be making with help of Boeing a plane very soon . It will change the whole ball game. See what Korean and japanese cars did to FORD and GM. Same thing will happen to Spirit. Labor rates too expensive in USA, and too many Unions.
I don't get this. If SPR has a $38 billion dollar backlog, and if earnings estimates for next year are $2.50 or better, this stock should be $30 on its own merits, with or without any buyout. Both Boeing and Airbus are predicting large sales for the next 4-5 years. I think it's "catch -up" time for SPR. Just need a little spark.
