Smaller companies like this are very suseptable to days like today when a single fund manager may decide to either buy or sell the stock. Obviously, something triggered someone wanting to buy the stock the last two days. Whether it is for investment purposes or someone wanting to even-up a net short position I do not know.
The only fundamental items this week are that the price of oil has been dropping and ag commodities have cooled (but are still volitile).
Obviously, the risks-off trade has been the pref trade this week and with commodities being pressured this week, BGS being a staple food stock, and a high yielding stock, it is a convergence of positives for a company like this.
Options expiration always create unusual price actions somewhere in the market.
