That is funny, all that banging on the table and whining about GGP not working with SPG and how SPG was going to walk away. Now SPG does not want to buy it they want to join the exit plan. SPG must have not been successful getting an investment group together.
I totally disagree - this is a very clever gambit by Simon. He totally undercut the Brookfield/Ackman offer and would own 20% of GGP. Will be in a perfect position to scoop up GGP assets if they are sold and down the road will almost certainly have other opportunities to buy the entire company. Best for SPG shareholders, he is not overpaying.
