DETROIT (AP) -- Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee says a gun worn by an off-duty officer was in a waist holster when it fired and killed a woman who hugged him at a party.Godbee says it's possible for the trigger to be pulled because the holster is made of soft material. He told reporters Monday the officer is "very remorseful," but didn't pull the trigger.Adaisha Miller was celebrating what would have been her 25th birthday Monday when she was fatally shot while dancing at a party early Sunday. Godbee says Miller hugged the officer from behind. The victim's mother, Yolanda McNair, says Miller wanted to enjoy the weekend before her birthday. She says the shooting shouldn't have happened. The officer has been placed on desk duty while the case is investigated.
Sounds like more dumbass behavior in good ol'Detroit.
