.......segment earnings for the 4th quarter 2012 was 16.5 million (including the 3 million settlement case) compared to 0.5 million segment earnings from the 4th quarter of 2011 plus about a 20% rise in overall Winchester sales (155 million v 122 million) between the 2 years in the 4th quarter. I didn't see the backlog , but with 4 out of 5 gun stores in which 3/4ths of their ammo shelves are bare, chances are they will be REALLY busy for awhile. SWHC and RGR should benefit.
Oh, it seems like it's the chlor alkali Q1 earning that's expected to decline, so it doesn't say anything about Winchester - although, they did announce that they had a significant ongoing expense from relocating Winchester from somewhere Illinois to Mississippi somewhere.
I'm not sure how much of alkali is dragging the company dow, but this is what I read:
