    As we near earnings

Although prelim numbers are out, I'm really interested to see how this week and next go as we get closer to final earnings report. As we approached the last earnings it climbed up and it looks like it might repeat itself this time. The million dollar question is whether to sell just before earnings or just after. Last time I sold all just before earnings in March and then bought again in April when it was too attractive to ignore. With the short position declining, history may not repeat itself so I can't decide if I should sell just before earnings again or after. Any thoughts on before or after the report?

    • Sell. You are just a day trader. Those of us who look at the fundamentals and are not panic sellers tend to hold and buy more on dips. I guess if you timed this stock perfectly you could trade for a gain. But I bought at 3/5/7/9 and 10.50. When should I have sold?

      • dontbetheball, you haven't been in this stock long enough to get ripped. I see you bought in at 3? good for you. I owned 7500 shares of this stock at 20. It looked very promising back then! my 150k turned into 37500 almost overnight. I finally sold at 5 plus change..... Losing 113k makes you wake up and find out that the buy and hold is not applicable in todays markets....If I had stayed looooong, then today I would have 73,875. Still shy by 76, six years holding. But guess what sir, I learned to trade this peckerwood stock that killed me and I trade it often. some times weekly and a lot of times daily. In this past week alone I made over 18k date I'm around 6k shy of recovering my 113k loss so to each his own, you got in at a good level but watch the rearview mirror and be ready to jump when the time comes. And the time will come again. I say sell into earnings and wait for the pullback...ride it back up, get out and back in.... the MMs are running this market now, single stock holders are screwed if you just buy and hold. jmho....good luck! I am not giving stock advice, just talking on a message board.

        Sentiment: Hold

      • You're right, I am a short term trader with this stock. I got in during December when I realized the news was temporarily driving this stock down. The fundamentals look good but being such a small cap, I don't see it as a long term hold, only a buy on the dips and sell on the high. I do however believe it is a stable company with a decent and stable future and I don't agree with all the bashers. Good luck to all of you.

        Sentiment: Hold

    • for whwatever its worth.... per cnbc, most all stocks have sold off on earnings beat this year.
