This cross-agreement deal seems to be giving Synaptics the shaft. Did they get anything at all from Cirque? Cuz Cirque certaintly seems to be getting something for nothing in my opinion, that is, the ability to sell Synaptics' patented technology without paying royalities. But thats just my take.
Are you kidding me or something. This agreement will move SYNA into knew territory 40+? I have been waiting for this type of news for a while now. YOu will not see these prices ever again. $35 next week!
The name Cirque didn't register last night. A subsidiary of ALPS. Synaptics and Alps have been the two competitors in the capacitive field for years. Laptops that don't have Synaptics touchpads have Alps.
I think that we have seen that the arena is big enough for two companies to grow and prosper. That they are agreeing on licensing quibbles means that both companies save of expensive litigation -- smart management.
