After earnings- decline of 10 percent or greater??

Is this severe pullback following a strong earnings report warranted or is it just noise? Does anyone on this board know why the pullback happened? All of the gains made following the earnings have dissipated.

    • Strange company. Biggest issue is probably that prior management was seen as outstanding, and present management is clearly not delivering the same sort of results, but talks a lot more confidently. That suggests a threat to corporate survival (I'm not saying Rothamel and crew are inferior, just that they haven't proved how good they are, but they talk as if they had)

Texas Legislature is in session (they meet first half of every odd-numbered year) which is threatening (EZ still has too much concentration in Texas, and balancing that is an "eating too much candy" sort of problem).

Various owner-friendly measures that could boost the shares haven't been taken, and with one exception seem unlikely. The one that seems possible is an admission by Mr Cohen that his company is not a desirable one-stop-shop for investment banking services, and hiring of other investment bankers for large future deals.

Generally stagnant gold price decreases the buzz behind the pawn business.

      • I'm with you bot this AM. Who knows why stock sold off, maybe long term holders with losses saw chance to exit to chase mkt rally, or maybe short term traders took profit from eps announcement bounce. I have followed this company for many years and recently decided if given an opportunity would buy, so I bot this AM. Within next year I expect price to be higher.

        Sentiment: Buy

    • trying to figure out same thing. Yesterday, CSH was downgraded and it actually outperformed EZPW. No insider selling of note, have no idea why.
