One of the things that has always disgusted me about Kana is the perverse set of incentives that they have always set up. They give tons of options to everyone and it creates an obvious incentive to shoot for the moon and who gives a rip if it fails; it is only shareholder money and we can issue more equity and go through the cycle again. One of these days they may actually succeed and management will get rich even though they havn't produced anything. At least Chuck Bay won't get rich; that is some consolation.
The Investment Bankers also make plenty of money selling the potential that never seems to come to fruition.
eGain may fail but at least everyone's interests seem aligned and the BOD/Senior Mgt deserve credit for this.
