I'd be more concerned about the decline if the share price didn't shoot up at the end of every quarter. I don't think there is any inside information floating around but maybe I'm wrong.....
CHRD signs a $26 million deal with $50 million in bookings for the quarter and still trades where it is. It is a wonder that eGain is at $.45-$.65 My wild guess is that eGain bookings are under $3 million and assuming they are I'd say the share price is about right.
Think it is obvious that there is a panic about recession. Software sales do decline in a recession but one big difference between this one and the last one (bust of dot-com bubble) is that half of eGain's customers won't go out of business. At least they have a shot at maintaining revenues this time. Then again, I was sure they were dead when the bubble burst and sure they were going to show good trends when the preferred was converted to common so what do I know.
Looks like $.45 is the low assuming it is tax loss selling. If not; maybe we will see lower. Sure didn't expect it to go this low without further bad news.
Still no 13G filing; that bugs me.
Hope eGain doesn't make us wait until February to hear what bookings were.
Apparently it doesn't take many shares one way or the other to dramatically move the price up or down. Therefore if you are an optimist, like me, the outlook appears very bright indeed relative to the potential fortunes of this stock. That is why I am acquiring it on a regular basis. Now if you pessimists care to sell at the present level and dramatically lower the price that is fine in my book. Thanks. And have a very happy holiday.
eGain is recruiting for a Director of Finance.
What do you guys think? Should I pick the family up and move to California if they will hire me? Sure my wife would love the idea.
I don't know if it is bullish or bearish but their admin staff must be under a lot of stress. They have two openings in the finance area now.
Chordiant apparently is expecting $140-$150 million and they have 23 sales reps. eGain has 18 sales reps so assuming they are equally productive I think it is reasonable to expect around $110 million in revenue over the next four quarters which should translate into EPS of approximately $4 per share and a share price of oh say $80 a share.
Those of you buying in at $.66 a share should expect quite a return on your investment!
You are plain and simply friggin NUTS if you think eGain will ever produce $100 million in revenue over 4 quarters.
I don't think they have ever come close to it in 24 quarters!!!
Feel free to check it out and prove me wrong.
Would love to know when this happened.
Just my opinion, but things seem to be getting even prettier: In three more weeks, we will be at the end of the second quarter. I suppose we can expect a tripling in the pps!!!
Now is the time for short sellers to cover!!! Go: EGAN!!! Go: EGAN!!!
It may be just a matter of perspective regarding the price performance of EGAN stock.
Maybe we should not be concerned with what insiders are not doing. Perhaps, we should be more concerned with what outsiders are doing!!!
