ask yourself food prices going down?

If i am not mistaken the world population is growing about 80 million per year curently. If one has a look at one of the population clocks it will tell you where the demand for commodities are going. Now discretionay things like oil, gasoline have more demand destruction, but as for food, people can only tighten their belts so much, infact re-distribution of wealth is having many of existing population eating better and more, and more crop cosuming meat, chicken, milk and increasingly farmed fish. Aside from disasters like disease, famine, war the trend looks like demand is going to grow greatly. Of course with out another green revolution the demand will get tougher to meet. Add to this that we have been lucky in the past decade to be blessed with better than average growing conditions and yield, except for perhaps the last 2-3 years and they were still not that bad. Nice to be able to blame speculation, but at some point in time we are going to realize its not specualtion but demand and inflation/costs thats driving the cost to produce and buy crop commodities.
