Yes but 7% movement off the low in one day... the market conditions for selling marginally effective and extremely expensive drugs into a crowded marketplace must have improved dramatically today. In all seriousness I agree with your sentiment but why would the big investors sell if they can just sit back and let the small fry bid it up to ridiculous valuations. A $100 share price is not much more illogical than $50 so why not just sit back and let it grow?
What we saw this morning is how quickly MDVN can dive when fear kicks in. Big holders are desperately trying to keep the share price up and were able to bring it back up little by little. The major problem for big holders is that they can't get out with so little volume without killing the stock. Thanks to program trading, today again they pumped MDVN back up 100 shares at a time. But Xtandi has a slow start and is not going to be the wonder drug that Hung sold to Wall Street. Sit tight. Hung has a bad reputation and the market will reprice MDVN accordingly. It always does.
This is the very old trick used by big money to get out safely. They sell huge amt shares that causes price drops then buy small amt with progressively higher price to lure small investors to buy then they continue to do it again every day.
