Let's say 100 retail traders are long this at an average of 1K shares each, if the market maker can manipulate this and make them lose $1 a share on average within the next 2-4 weeks, that's a cool $100K in their pockets in a short amount of time... Later they can take the price where they want and clear their hedged positions like a breeze.
