I know the difference between resistance/recurrence. You say don't use strongest tool in your box to treat, but, vanco-resistance occurs after that is the treatment prescribed. Recurrence happens after release after vanco treatment does not totally cure initial c-dif. only to recur. But,all treatments about to become performance oriented. In other words,Dificid will rise to the top naturally as the recur rate will show as lower and that will translate to lower costs to payers and formulary will in-time show dificid as primary. Sorry that you had it in your mind that dificd would jump out on top and run wild. Longs are educated to that process...thats why they're called longs!!!!!! With 10000 PPL PER DAY!!!!!! becoming Medicare eligible soon, along with the fact that c-dif is a growing problem, and that 65 plus age group is most affected,a person would have to be very short-sighted to think that the value would not rise accordingly.
