Hi, you note you are a retired broadcasting exec. There was a poster on the gtn, blc and sbgi boards for years who is also a retired broadcasting exec (went by name daninfw) who was buying these broadcasters hand over fist after 2009 when these were a dollar or a little more. Another poster on the meg, gtn and blc boards by name value_invstr did financing for the broadcasting sector and he too has been very high on this sector for the last few hrs based on free cash flow being generated and m and a potential. His top pick now is meg but do not think he follows evc much.
Anyway, I wanted to ask your opinion about gtn, meg, nxst, etc. Going forward which broadcasters do you think are best placed to offer investors best returns? I know you like evc but wondering if you also like gtn and otners.
Also, do you think there is a chance smart money knows of bad earnings coiming out for evc next week which explains the high vol selloff lately?
    Thanks for your input.

    • I have invested in GTN, EVC and BLC. I recently sold GTN at a nice profit and EVC I traded twice both of these stocks paid me over 100%. I decided this week to get back involved before earnings with EVC I bought on what I thought was a dip . I was wrong and I am a little #$%$ at myself as I have pretty good market timing skills. I really got blasted. I spoke with some industry people yesterday and the word I received was that perhaps Black Rock is selling shares in both GTN and EVC in fact I put up the daily chart with 2 minute bars and the pattern was almost identical. You asked about eps. I really do not know but I feel it will be in line with expectations. This really is not a big earnings story from my perspective but a growth story. The Hispanic niche is going to be very valuable as well and we go into a mid year election cycle in 2014 and everyone wants the Hispanic voter in a big way this spells magic money for EVC imo. It may even bring a suitor or two to the front. Ilike GTN, and I still own BLC and I am holding because it appears the tender offer of 13.75 may be improved. I like MEG as well but currently have no position in it but I am reviewing it. My order is EVC, GTN and Meg. BLC was my favorite but it currently is not a buy imo a hold. Many took their money off the table already. When trading hat size stocks you worry about everything short term but long term these are good companies in a great industry. So I have become a longer term investor here than I anticipated but it will come back. imo. I may buy more but i will wait until after earnings and conference call to do it.

      Sentiment: Hold
