“A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush,” also sometimes given as, “A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush,” is a proverb saying that it is better to stick with something you already have, rather than pursuing something you may never get. When a labor contract greatly impedes the competitive nature of a company, then the Union has a responsibility to it's members to negotiate in good faith so the hard working union members continue to have GOOD Jobs. Better to keep a job than to hold out for a better deal than other trucking companies are getting who are far more competitive than ABFS currently which is losing money by the way. That is unsustainable and it will cost GOOD Jobs and ruin a company. YRC knew it, I know it, and the American people know it.
