    Incredibly low volume?

I realize that GDOCF is a very low volume equity especially compared to millions of shares traded daily in Oslo but after holding this for more than 7 years, I know, it's now gone completely dormant having not traded since Oct 31. Does anyone have any comments as to why?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Do not confuse low share volume in the US for lack of liquidity. As long as your broker is licensed either directly or by proxy the GDOCF shares can bought and sold on the OSLO exhange. At one time I had to pay 150.00 bucks for the privilege, but now it is down to 50.00 to buy or sell. Most of my shares were purchased in the 70 cent range.

      I hope that helps.

    • A simple check on "Historical Prices" actually does show some activity in Nov however it is anemic you are correct here in the USA, not so in Oslo~ Been that way for a very long time and that's one reason the "Pro's" advise against buying a foreign issue ~ But we have climbed to a high of $1.59 this year more than doubling in value off its yearly lows ~ If we can repeat that feat in 2014 I think everyone would be popping a cork of their favorite beverage and cheering JF to the hilt ~ I too have been in the stock soon to be 7 years but let us not forget the hefty divs that were paid out (four of them at .55, .30, .50, .40) in late '07 thry mid '08 ~ A 10,000 share block (if stock was purchased in early to mid '07 at an average between it's low of $1.50 to what it was trading at in July '07 at approx $4.50 that's roughly 3 bucks per share (or $30K for a 10,000 share block) ~ Q307 thru Q208 a total of $1.75 in divs were paid out which is $17,750 on a $30K investment bringing your cost average down to $12,250 for the 10,000 shares OR $1.22 per share ~ Granted we need a good leg up AGAIN to really make it worthwhile and worth the wait; hopefully we can get back to that $3 pps threshold this next year ~ If that happens we could very well see some really Blue Sky come 2015 ~ Hang in there! ~ GLTU and GLTA! .

      • Thanks for the analysis.
It gives me perspective I need. Just as you, I dove in around a similar time frame w around 20,000 shares, enjoyed the dividends and then blindsided by the global market dislocation but have hung on silently hoping for a turn which I perceive to be mid 2015 and beyond.
Occasionally I look at the world in a macro view knowing beyond a doubt that China will play an increasingly larger and larger role and then see GO at $1.50 and think to double down but have resisted thus far. My best to all the survivors and the Future..
