    Here we go

    I think it's pretty apparent I am an employee but still worried that there will be repercussions of talking. I posted earlier that things are looking bleak and hoped we were looking long term. On top of the mandated pay raise cutbacks and the limited spending now leaders are being told NO full time hires, Full timers will be replaced with more part time employees or not replaced at all. I'm not the smartest man but I do know the people make the business and the ones on the front lines make the difference. So now I am scared, I have heard more talk about great key people jumping ship than ever before. Long time people hanging it up and retiring while the getting's good ect.. I am sad, as a loyalist and a bragger of how ORLY treats their folks and used to preach it, that seems to be disappearing and the big emphasis on making the share holders happy even if it means dam the people that got us here is the new way of life. Oh well, I am going to hang in there because I do LOVE my company but the way things are heading makes the offers seem better everyday. Sorry no advise on this note but I do see stocks continuing to go up because $$ means everything, But don't hang on to them very long. Look at other companies that used customer service and their people to achieve great things that turned into profit above people companies and you decide when to jump ship. Wal Mart did it! Can you name another?

    • to say, i am in the same boat you are pretty much correct on your statements.the pressure is on all behind the counter people to push sales.all tactics in my area are being used to (in my opinion to push people to produce.)in my interview with other parts personal they have NO motivation or loyalty its as i said before ITS JUST A JOB.cust service is slowly suffering and professional management at lower level is lacking.if you are worried about a repercussions take a look on teamnet titled CODE OF ETHICS revised 09-12.overtime less than parttime people will be used to fill a void and lack of knowlege of industry will show its true colors.hang in and just ride the wave the best you can.
