My company recently experienced an all time high for a single day natural gas send out BEFORE the official start of winter. It can get colder than that here in the northeast so we expect more records to be broken before its all said and done...My understanding is that UPL has no hedges for the Q1 2014...therefore I expect spectacular results. If the company can now start hedging out at anything above 4 bucks than UPL may be revisit its hey day of yore. If the stock does not respond than I believe the company could consider and fund the removal of huge blocks of stock from the market.
This has to be dismissed based on the cold jolt that nobody was prepared for. Out here in California, thermostats are turned off now. with temps well above normal for winter. When people see their bills, that will be the end of running heaters.
No, this was not a historically cold day for us by any stretch so we cannot say it was an unexpected "jolt". It was cold but not abnormally cold as we can have periods below zero and that was not the case on that day. We can only attribute to the fact that we have acquired more customers in the past 18months.
