    ins. companies will gladly pay

oh yeah, that insulin, test strips, meter, lancets, sore fingertips, band aids, dr visits every three months, lab tests, and the constant coma, blindness, amputation, kidney failure risk...that's all normal. perfectly normal. right.

so does 5 times the risk of death compared to one without diabetes mean 5 times more perfectly normal?

    • You can cherry pick stats all you want.

Your post fails to point out why the risk of death is higher which is primarily non-compliance to physician recomendations by the patient. You can choose any ailment you want and show mortality statistics over those who don't have that condition. duh?

Sore fingers? Where have you been the past 5 years? Most popular devices today allow patients to test on their forearms which you can hardly feel.

If you or a family member is struggling with diabetes I'm sorry about that. There are varying degrees of diabetes. However, the facts are that the majority can live perfectly normal lives by following their physician's directions and testing routinely.
