I am a dxcm bull, owner etc. so want to agree but unfortunately i am pretty sure you are wrong, at least with regards to the new mdt pump-sensor product that was just approved (i met with a mdt sales rep). They lowered the sensor cost to $35 (thanks dxcm!) and are charging $900-1000 for the transmitter, but it comes with 9-10 free sensors so netted out, it is very comparable to the dxcm product. mdt and abt are huge companies and will not be outpriced. still a bull but pricing isn't the reason.
Without replacement claim and reimbursement, which DXCM very unlikely to get because of the limits of its technology, market is very small and it looks like DXCM's product is inferior to competition's on many important attributes.
DXCM is hugely overpriced and is poised for a fall.
tothewall88, thanks for that information. I was referring to the Medtronic Guardian RT product that they were selling for $1,995 plus $395 for the docking station. Based on the info. you got from the rep. concerning pricing for the combined unit, it sure looks like Dexcom's presence is being felt.
