The justice department has been secretly obtaining AP phone records

So much for freedom of the press. What is going to be next for this President and HIS Administration.

    • The clowns over at MSLSD are freaking out today.

    • Lol.....As much as I'm against Government intrusion in our freedom you guys crack me up. Somebody was leaking national security matters to AP. Republicans alike were all over this saying that WH is purposefuly leaking information. Justice department goes all out to figure this out and you guys are again up in arm? It is hard to please you, isn't it?

Now IRS targeting tea party that is completely effed up. Nobody should be spared in that probe. you cannot target any group based on what their political/social leanings are unless they are criminal in nature. Heads should roll plain and simple and please no apologies.

      • "Somebody was leaking national security matters to AP."

Who? Which department? Are you speculating or speaking from firsthand knowledge? Even you should know by now that you can't believe 'talking points' disseminated by anyone in this administration.

      • Chiraag, be careful not to dismiss how damaging the AP intrusion may be. 20 phone line records.
Do you think anyone will easily speak with the press knowing this level of confiscation is taking place? Whistle blowers are running scared, and they should.

The justice department did it the wrong way, and they know it. They had to be looking for something else.

    • Relax Raymond. its a NATIONAL SECURITY matter. remember Uncle Sam can do anything to protect the NATIONAL INTEREST. Why are you so bothered by this? Are you implying that your Government is lying to you? You do after all retain your Second Amendment rights, just start a revolution and throw the bums out. The next set of bums will surely not lie to you the PEOPLE. Too funny!

Raymond my friend - all governments are corrupt, full stop. Your constitutional rights are an illusion my friend.

    • Ronald Reagan said;

If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of reprisals from customers, clients, or even government, recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile hoping he'll eat you last.

...well the AP aint last its just the latest in this mess!

I warned YOU people for well over 5 years that this CORRUPTION will not stop until we STOP IT!

Our House is NOT only DIVIDED but its crumbling before our very eyes America...You wanted it BAD you got it worse!

    • I guess it's time to add to BHO's current title of Bigot and Socialist to BHO the wanna be dictator. What a corrupt piece of work this loser and his clown sidekick Joe Biteme are.

    • Now this is funny, The AP has been President O's biggist chairleader. Goes to show you if uou Lie down with dogs and wake up with fleas.

    • Another fine example of the Patriot Act protecting us from terrorists.

Carrying on the fine tradition started by his predecessor. For example, libtards were writing this in 2006:

:Bush recently directed Attorney General Alberto Gonzales to use "whatever means at your disposal" to wiretap, follow, harass and investigate journalists who have published stories about the administration's illegal use of warrantless wiretaps, use of faulty intelligence and anything else he deems "detrimental to the war on terror."

"This is the first administration that I can remember, including Nixon's, that said we need to think about a law that would put journalists who print national security things up in front of grand juries and put them in jail if they don't reveal their sources," says David Gergen, who served as President Regan's director of communication and also worked in the Nixon and Ford White Houses."

As much as BHO annoys you, his policies to anti-terrorism are still very Bush-like.

      • ffmoo.....[As much as BHO annoys you, his policies to anti-terrorism are still very Bush-like]

NO they are not they are NOTHING like Bush!

        annoys us?

        Try... we want him IMPEACHED!

and we may not even need to PUSH it cause this administration is doing the classic SHOOTING ITSELF IN THE Collective FOOT!

When will he learn to call an ACE an ACE and a SPADE a SPADE....as in Ft Hood is NOT workplace violence.... its clearly a Terrorist PLANNED INFILTRATION of the US Army by a TERRORIST! Our Military is so Infiltrated now by these lowlifes that the American people can not even Trust our Top Military Leaders...wait til Petraeus is subpoenaed!

Those people who were seriously WOUNDED can not even get decent Medical Care by this government because of the ''wording"...its all out of pocket...can you say....

Pelosi DEATH PANELS are coming too, but she still gets her BOTOX baby!

        Frank

      • The size and scope of the record grab was the apparent problem in this case. At this point, we don't yet know if it was the AP only, but we do know it was a broad look into AP records/communications. It was not narrow, that has already been reported.

Keep pointing at that last administration now on its 5th year out of power.

    • And the libs will say, "What difference does it make?" or "It happened a long time ago." Liberals have demonstrated time and time again that they care nothing about principles, nothing about constitutional government, nothing about the Bill of Rights. Power is their god and their objective. A Democrat president can get away with murder whereas a Republican president would be lambasted for mispronouncing a word during an off-the-cuff speech.

    • And the hits keep on coming. Did we expect anything less from this crew?
