Complimentary or competition: CLDX vs. SGEN vs. IMGN
I am heavy CLDX since 2008 (avg. $4.50) so enjoying what patience and the future holds for CLDX with an interest to invest in the immunotherapy anti-bodies science technology opportunities in different forms of cancer and diseases such that diversifying to SGEN and IMGN (but not selling any CLDX) ....... it seems to me that any favorable test results by any of these 3 companies (who have partnered at times) will do nothing but raise the stock price for the others also as it improves the probability for these medicines versus other diseases and\or co-administration of medicines by these 3 companies .... Thus, there is a greater amount of complimentary nature between CLDX, SGEN, & IMGN than competition.
I don't want all my eggs in one company's basket, but is the logic above niavely overlooking something from a technical perspective while trying to have some diversification to minimize the risk of "poor company management" decision.
Thanks in a advance for comments on how\if you are diversifying in the science.
Novo; You got right 3 stocks ...I am not sure successful result in one help other or spread bullishness due to they are in similar immunotherapy R&D... I owned all 3 stocks you mentioned here for last couple years but IMGN is far behind other two. So idea of one stock's successful result doesnot alway have impact on other just because of similar science...I think IMGN problem was first drug deal made with ROCHE, small royality %...I also own : INCY, ACAD, GHDX, MNKD, XOMA, SQNM in healthcare.
novochris hence my call to look at TSRX and others over the years..all in good unmet needs and all were pics that I did my best DD and I owned them too...I fear DCTH was the worst call and for that I wish I could rescind that advocacy...although I do believe some FDA POLITICKING as Usual went on but DCTH is a clear cut case of CEO largess and I missed it!
I did get several right too like MITI, INFI and CRIS so its good post U make over DIVERSIFICATION and I would concur in BIO at the very least U need 5+ holdings if in this space at all times to give a portfolio the RISK MITIGATION one needs especially when we see what bad CEO can do to louse things up!
Fortunately my wrong or shall we say ILL TIMED calls at AMAG and DCTH were risk mitigated to some extent by my correct calls at CLDX, RGDX, MITI, YMI Bio, VICL, TSRX, PBTH, GALE, EXAS, EXEL, DSCI, and a couple other small plays and thats just good Business sense to NOT have all ones eggs in one basket..although I must say all my invested EGGS are in the Bio Basket admittedly!
I do have some hedge plays in Au and SQQQ just in case rates pop unexpectedly and Bonds really tank....
I took your advice weeks ago lookig at TSRX and became very interested, unfortunately I was waiting for a dip to get in and it hasn't stopped going from in the $10's to now $12.50 ...... I shouldn't have been so greedy.
Thanks for the recommendation as I wait to see what happens next week as saw a comment today in that buyout may be preferred as unsure if TSRX possibly has a sufficient sales force. .... but a very interesting stock for sure.
i just buy calls , you only need a few dollars in calls to get MASSIVE gains ..if it tanks your only out a few bucks..i bought cldx aug 12s back at that 9.50 breakout a few months ago for 50cents...sold em when pps hit 21 the other day for almost $9...so a $50 call went to $900...spread profit into tsrx , halo , znga calls & reposioned into cldx nov 25s with %25 of my profit...my fist try at options & printing $ like 1999 !
Divination (from Latin divinare "to foresee, to be inspired by a god", related to divinus, divine) is the attempt to gain insight into a question or situation by way of an occultic, standardized process or ritual. Used in various forms throughout history, diviners ascertain their interpretations of how a querent should proceed by reading signs, events, or omens, or through alleged contact with a supernatural agency.
