It's out- The economy does better when a Democrat president is in The White House

Princeton economists Alan Blinder and Mark Watson did the analysis. Search for their video.

    • Isn't Blinder the Economist that brought us CASH FOR CLUNKERS? Yea, that's the guy, brilliant.

    • Mark Watson the comedian?

    • AND so does HIGH UNEMPLOYMENT.

    • The research is a joke not because it is factual that the economy does better under Dems than Reps but their reasoning/conlusion is that it should mostly be attributed to luck. LUCK!!!

Dems advocate rebuilding our infrastructure which creates jobs--whether for the construction worker or the mom and pop shop that would benefit or that restaurant.

Dems what more funding for Research and Development--which more than pays for itself down the road.

Dems advocate the use of alternative energy that is less harmful to the environment--global warming or not. Republicans would scream it is too expensive but look what has happened under Obama solar panel cost have come down--thanks to tax payers but we are going to be getting paid back in cheaper solar and less dependence on foreign oil(another subject in itself).

      I can go on...

      Sentiment: Strong Sell

      • You know very little how POLITICAL MACHs and how they work. THE bulk of that TAXPAYER money that SHOULD GO to these jobs gets skimmed off the top to pay patronage jobs. It's a JOKE. Don't get me started.
They are all corrupt (both sides) and they know how to play the People (all you got to do is read the MANY MBs).
They best way is to LOWER TAXES for everybody to the point where it's better to work and invest (If you have what it takes, but from what I've seen here, some should not be putting their money into STOCKS, they should be buying Index FUNDS or ETFs) than to live OFF the TAXPAYERS (GOV)
I don't consider SS a GOV hand out because we pay into it and if the GOV never STOLE from it (to cover budget gaps) there would be PLENTY OF MONEY to even pay more to those who put in (COMPOUND INTEREST). Try to learn what these POLTICANS are doing with YOUR MONEY. They believe in the old saying "A FOOL (TAVPAYER) AND HIS/HER MONEY WILL SOON BE PARTED AND FIND ITS WAY TO DC."
All you need to do is LOOK at your Retirement Accts and you'll see how SMART you are and how much you are paying attention to what's going on.

    • The same people who fall for cherry-picking data and conclusions based on flimsy evidence and reasoning in that video and article probably also believe in anthropogenic climate change.

Compare Carter and Reagan on economic results. That will tell you everything.

        No question!

I was born under Carter and in had my future stolen by Reagan. Carter oversaw an economy that boasted massive increases in median income and a govt that paid its bills. Reagan ran up the credit card in a fashion the world had never seen before, and, shockingly, did so coming into a stable economy with a very balanced budget....and somehow found a way to oversee a decrease in the average American's (present and future) quality of life....boy was President George H. Bush right....gave us trickle-down destruction that began the end of the American dream. Truly remarkable. Absolutely unprecedented and, unrepeated until the 2000's (last turd and the current Congress are sure trying to do the ruin, again.)....quadruple the national debt...Reagan = worst economic president in generations. Coolidge has him beat overall.

Coffee spewer moment...this is coming from a guy (whippersnapper65) who admitted last week that he gets his talking points from a British tabloid, the Daily Mail.

Thanks for the laugh whipp! I'll send you my bill for having to launder my shirt!

    • Oh really? Princeton economists putting forth another unbiased, "scientific" paper? I hope it's written on toilet paper!
