    Can someone tell me....

I have gone back through the press releases as far as Oct and can not find why this stock has done so poorly.....dropping from the 60s to the 30s over the past six months. The financials look the 10/31 earnings report, bookings were up. Is there any reason other than the markets have done poorly over that period of time? Let me know. TIA.

    • Don't look now, but I think it's a great time to buy! How can you beat owning stock in a company that blows things up for the Army?

      GO VSEC!

    • eel, I traded AXR in high 20s and thought I was smart - obviously not. I could not recommend more than a token position now, though the chart is sooo powerful.

Glad to have you join longs in ADG! Some day, some way, shorts will loose control. 2007 was about contract delays, and financing problems - very serious, but appear resolved. Ive heard earning May 10 or so. Come to the ADG board and raise your qs as new holder. The poster officerdr is basically a company proxy - he honestly pre-announces co news, and is never wrong. The poster naga00 is William Velmer who publishes SAAdvisory, com - I recommend you get his newsletter (free) emailed to you. Look at his previous letters for the big picture on ADG - some of his other picks - ALJJ and PAL look good also.

I thing the reversal today, while modest, could bode well for VSEC. Stay in touch and do post on ADG board.

    • Looking at the AXR graph it seems they should be in the roller coaster business. In fact they have a funny mix of business, real estate and magazine distribution. I will have to do some DD, but on first reaction both those sectors spook me a bit. I once financed a rack-jobber in the early 90's (forget the name but they were a subsidiary of Carolco movie producers) that eventually went belly-up, and I recently made a tidy sum shorting another rack-jobber SORC, so I tend to stay away from the sector. As for real estate I can just about bring myself to punt on commercial RE, but the residential variety doesn't inspire me much (also made a packet shorting southern california residential CALC). Still, AXR is up 80% on the year so there must be a story there. They show 6 qtrs consecutive margin & eps decline, could they have hit bottom?

Concerning ADG I will buy a small tracking position, and average in if warranted. Could be interesting. Must do more DD. Why do they consistently lose money? Do you know date of next earnings announcement?

Getting back to vsec, and to post above by mister green, a Russel inclusion would definitely be good news. I think they had one analyst covering for a while, but can't seem to find him anymore, he probably gave up...

    • One more quick and ernest effort to get some of the VSEC investors to look at ADG. They have more contract news today, and the partnership with ATK is very important to ADG going forward.

ADG is up 2% in today's down market, and I truly believe the next 12 months for ADG could resemble the last 12 for VSEC.

    • ...bear sterns is definitely part of the story, but your DD on this stock would not be complete without a look at insider transactions :

Interesting to note just when the selling stopped..

You might also do well to read some of the old posts on this board.

And remember this is a very thin market, just $50k can whipsaw the price. Not for the light hearted.

There was some forced selling by Bear Stearns (which I now believe is over). Other than that, I'm as mystified as you are. Even though it's come back a little, I think we still have a great buying opportunity.
