This time may be different. The currency for acquiring banks has re-flated. AF has been doing things i.e. redeeming preferred stock to position itself for a takeover. In fact, they have not been an acquiror in some time. It appears they are looking for an end game.
I have to believe they are in talks with WM right now. I would sure like to double my dividend and have appreciation at the same time!
