The 3rd quarter results reflect a continued deterioration of this franchise under an inept management team. They are being forced to deleverage the balance sheet which will decrease net interest income, but they refuse to attack their expense side(i.e.compensation). That is only place they will be able to cut expenses to reflect a smaller balance sheet. Unless AF sells to someone very soon, this franchise will continue to lose value and shareholders will continue to suffer. A strategic deal is necessary. I think Engelke needs to retire. He seems to be losing it on the conference call. He is far from articulate now.
