    • no, it was started by people that really smart people that really know ethics......

    • Is this something started by Target?

    • The research-based Ethisphere Institute is a leading international think-tank dedicated to the creation, advancement and sharing of best practices in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, anti-corruption and sustainability.

      thanks for asking.....

    • Target is great. Target is great. But actually who is this Ethisphere Inst, never heard of them. Target is great!

    • The company you focus your wrath on, GE, is also on that list of the most ethical companies.

GE is also #13 on Fortune's Most Admired Companies.

You didn't cite the source of the other 2 polls so I have no idea where they came from.

Regardless, I don't put much stock in these polls either way. The results can be paid for. Even the BBB was caught taking money to give companies higher ratings.

    • I'll say it one more time for you, Target promotes itself as being the progressive retailer, you state it yourself all the time. Then they try these underhanded tactics that appear to show a true agenda that opposes this image. People don't like hypocrisy. This is why Target faces boycotts, they are a big fraud.

And GE has plenty of philanthropic endeavors as well. www.ge.com/citizenship Why don't they get the free pass you give to Target?

And the Ethisphere survey you cite, also lists GE as one of the most ethical companies in the world. Right there along with Target.

    • a healthy business environment creates jobs not the state or federal govt.

GE is a criminal because just like TOO many of our elected representatives they support tax a spend policies while dodging their own personal responsibilities. for gods sake Immelt the CEO is Obamas personal corp liason and a HUGE financial supporter and he didn't pay a friggin nickle.

Target GIVES AWAY 5% of it's income through community grants and programs.

      3 MILLION dollars per week.

if all they cared about was gettin fat I know how they could save 150 MILLION dollars per year.

where is your outrage for EVERY OTHER corp. in the US that supports pro business candidates? why is Target cherry picked for your wrath?

    • And you, beh, never answered as to why GE is criminal for outsourcing, but Target is ethical?

And also with GE being an example of how the working people in the country subsidize the corporations through the tax code, so why is progressive Target supporting more so-called "pro-business" candidates?

    • The prop 8 donations you refer to were indeed not from Target but from employees. Someone jumped the gun on that one and it was retracted fairly quickly. Yes, it was wrong, and unnecessary because there is enough other true material here to show how despicable Target really is.

And your explanation makes no sense as to why Target was picked for a boycott, seemingly at random to you, when most people and organizations agreed that prior to this election cycle, Target really did support progressive policies. Target brought this on themselves and I think they underestimated, and continue to underestimate, the impact those policy decisions would have on their image and bottom line.

    • not a single lie in either of those links. independent, RESPECTED organizations support everything that they are telling us.

you have an agenda because the organizations that first decided to go on the attack were pissed off about the failure to get gay marrige legislation passed and decided to find a corperate bogeyman. They picked a poor target.

I asked you a question once before. did you find the bogus prop8 attack as despicable as I did or did you give them a pass because the story matched your ideology?
