    Check out PVG!

friendly... Am a daily reader of the WSJ. For what it's worth, that journal recommends waiting to see how it perfoms bafore plopping down the family fortune. I think they consider that fund a little too risky and off the beaten path in it's structure. Will be interesting to see how it turns out. retiredafe8

    • WALLSINGER--Unfortunately the Journal usually makes suggestions "after-the-fact". I certainly would not make very large committments to PTY at these prices.-Like yourself, I am older (82) and cautious.--I try to buy when the market is "oversold" and ignore the market when it is overbought.--Buffett said it---"Buy when,if you are wrong you can sell and limit your loss. ---He makes money by "not loosing money" or loosing very little.--Since PTY is presently quite "overbought" I am not a buyer though PTY is my largest holding.--I always average in and at present am averaged in at 11.18. It is true that I often miss some big moves BUT my philosophy is to not loose (very much)money.
Frankly I may have a different perspective than others--My principle goal is to finance the college costs for my three grandchildren so the steady return is meaningful.
