Anyone know why CEF Connect is reporting 0.0159 monthly ROC distributions for this fund? I know this topic came up last fall, and currently the Allianz site shows no ROC distributions for 2010. What gives?
... and a look at the chart for PTY's NAV for th past year shows that it's been rising at a fairly even pace so ROC (which could mean cap gains or gains from options trading) has not negatively impacted the per share value of assets.
Might be worth monitoring, but one of the assumption one makes when investing in a PIMCO fund managed by Gross is that he knows what he's doing ... especially compared to your average Yahoo message board guru.
"I would be a seller!! "
Based on an inaccurate, hysterical read of Morningstar???
"Morningstar shows it pays a ROC every quarter for quite some time now. "
Actually Numbnuts PTY pays monthly, not quarterly, and Morningstar shows ROC of about 1.6 cents for 4 months and the end-of-year special dividend.
Additionally, this month Morningstar raised its rating on PTY from 3 stars to 4 stars. It also shows a yield of 12.16% (yield, not distribution).

Change in Morningstar Fund Star Rating
The Morningstar Star Rating for this fund has changed from 3 stars to 4 stars. For details, go to
duhhhh!!!..gross was on cnbc 2 weeks ago telling you to expect 3-4% actual return..the rest of that 10 is YOUR MONEY!!!..BELIEVE IT..gross reduced his treasury holdings by 20% last 2 weeks..heads up
My thought is that they are referencing the Section 19 notice on Allianz website. This shows ROC of $.0159. The only problem is that this was the dividend that went ex in Sept 2008. Implying no ROC since then. Looks like sloppiness to me!
fbr...My records show PTY has been paying 90% income and 10% ROC. That has been going on for some time now. We just sold PGP cause it went 100% ROC for Feb and Mar and partial income for Jan. Can't understand why PGP would do that and still be at a high premium. retiredafe8
