I am in favor of them going private if it means they survive as Meade, producer of fine astronomical products. Their past owner (John Diebel) is fully retired and will probably not come to the rescue again. I think he is up there in age also so he would most likely do so from a financial standpoint only which would be risky at his age.
I think they got the right guy at CEO in Steven Murdock as he knows telescopes and optics as has been with the company in some form or another since 1980. We can only hope he has a good enough team and a good enough board to see them through this. The board being the biggest question of those two in my opinion. Meadethroat where are you? :)
