REIT's have to pay out 90% of their earning, I believe it is. LXP sold some stuff, during the year, which may have necessitated the extra payout. I think the Newkirk deal skewed things up a bit, too. You've got to be careful when you're looking at the Yahoo details for this kind of stock. Sometimes a special payout, spin-off, or liqidation appears in the Yahoo info as a much larger dividend; when, in fact, it is only a one time payout.
