is going over the fiscal cliff beneficial? That's right, nobody's! Pre-election, Republicans would refuse to do ANYTHING that gets the Pres re-elected. Obama and Dems refused to do ANYTHING that antagonized its base and jeopardized re-election. But now, you can already hear from all over both sides (the official pundits and unofficial voices) the gospel of "centrist" and "moderation." A deal must and will be struck. And like Draghi famously once said, "...trust me, it will be enough."
If the sell off continues (probably for a very "short" while), it'll be your que and one of the last opportunities for you to buy cheap as heck shares before the next stage rally. You'll feel like the same bears that got left behind in early 2009 and still feeling remorse while playing the world's smallest violin.
