I think the Question is does Bernie have the guts to Taper

and my gut tells me he doesn't. Why take action and start the process of ending QE when you are going to be out of a job come early next year. Why up set the markets, especially with this Syria thing hanging over our heads and do the right thing "end QE". No Uncle Bernie will take the "chicken way out" and sit on his hands and so nothing. The Fed has been on QE drugs for so long they have lost sight of when or how to get off. In fact the Fed is so addicted to QE it might not act now until December or next year. Why should "helicopter Ben" take the heat for ending or slowing QE, when he can dump it on Summers lap next year when he becomes the Fed Chief.

Congress kicks the can down the road regarding the run away Federal Deficit and now Uncle Ben kicks the can down the road with no tapering and no cutting back QE. Yep - its all talk and no action - The American Way.

    • right...playboy Ben has no guts. in fact, he has had 'no' detractors since the beginning of his tenure. and 'no' one opposed his actions from day one. he's so 'gutless' that he's been able to do the things he's done 'only' because he's so well loved and have so much 'support' from both the streets and politicians alike. btw, you know why he's called 'playboy' Ben? cos he's been banging people who've underestimated his shiny bald head since day one. ;-O taper is a done deal, question is by how much. don't try and be smarter than those drippy bond guys, they're not as temperamental and prone to fits like equity guppies
