You people are funny. It's a good thing you don't run or operate a buisness...because it would be a loser.....buisness isn't always fair people, this is a cost saving measure. Why continue to operate a plant when you have the capabilities to run the line someplace else?? ever heard of consolidate for cost measures?> New contracts are happening and soon you will all see.
I understand business is business, all I am trying to say is that they could have put a slightly different spin on the announcement - the employee's already were devastated by the loss of their job - to kick em in the teeth while they are down was uncalled for!
Yes, consoladation is good business sense, as well as lay offs to reduce over head. Been through all of that and it's really a tough time out there right now. So, when you hear about people you KNOW being caught in it as well, in an area that has limited job opportunities, and these people are nice and have responsibilities and families, there is nothing wrong with expressing a little compassion for them. It's ok to say, aw. It would be nice to see these contracts happen, and not off shore. This company affects a lot of people I know in different areas of the industry.
