Does Miller own a niche market?

Just wondering if anyone knows who their competitors are, or a good website that would list their competitors. I know the competitors listed on Yahoo and MSFT and GOOG sometimes don't list close competitors, and they don't list private companies by name.

    • Miller's closest US competetor is Jerr-Dan owned by Oshkosh. NRC from canada is another competetor but mainly only with the large heavy duty wreckers. There are several other smaller manufactures that compete in the towing market such as Dynamic and Dual Tech. Miller by far and away is the largest of them all.
I would be suprised if Miller does not have at least 70% of the market. After touring the Miller factory and seeing their products it seems to me they are going to keep gaining market share..

      • I was going to chime in but that is a very knowledgeable assessment. There are also significant patents on the technology to such a degree that the FTC went after Miller years ago when it acquired most of its competitors. Taking share will be tough since they are already 70%+. This has become more of a cyclical play. The military business will be down big this year since they are not expecting additional orders from Navistar. They have an exclusive on the towing equipment provided to Navistar for its MaxxPro Recovery vehicles.
