Newcastle Investment Corp. Message Board

    ONE Problem still exist!

Uneducated traders continue to stomp the bid.....the volume/accumulation/distribution shows that shares are "DRYING" up on NCT...usually stockholders will hold for their price in such a circumstance...but we still have some "Pseudo Trader" selling in the face of a mini short squeeze.....very frustrating!

    • I agree with your analysis. NCT also had to restart the preferred dividends in able to pay the common. All financials have been hit but I believe NCT is a good value at this level. If earnings come in at .35 to .40 consistently the dividend will increase and so will the stock price.

I was listening to a talking head the other day and his opinion was the financials won't "lead" for 3 more years based on past trends. If that is the case then it is a wonderful opportunity to accumulate NCT, collect the dividend and wait. If this stock truly earns 1.60 it will be worth much more down the road. GLTA.

    • This has been a very civil board for years. We now have a couple of posters who incessantly post their dissatisfaction with management and harp on conspiracy theories. Why they just don't sell and disappear if they are that dissatisfied leads one to believe they most probably are short. On the insider buys it wasn't just Edens who bought a sizable postion but Nardone (1,000,000 shares), Riis (150,000), Ashley (150,000) and a couple of 30k insiders. My question all along has been where were they in the most recent past as the company has recovered, and since these were all bought at the time of the SPO is there something else going on. They have consistently stated in their past 2 CCs that they were only using part of the available earnings to fund the dividend resumption and could have paid more if necessary. That alone leads me to believe they are on track to fulfill their earnings projections (if they have been investing the proceeds from the SPOs acreatively). I have been invested in NCT for a number of years and held on and added as the price sunk under $1.00. Just the fact that they have reinstated the dividend justifies my long term hold. This is a bad time for financials and there couldn't be a better time to start a position as I feel we are around a floor for the stock price. It will be interesting to see if they increase the dividend again next month.

      Respectfully,

    • This board is a bit cold to it's participants. I am considering entering NCT and whether someone is stupid or not has no bearing on my decision. My question is can the analysts be believed?please no analysts conspiracy theories)They see the stock doubling in a year. Are the earnings projections valid? If correct the stock is going to be worth much more in the future than now. As to the insider buy, maybe Wes doesn't know anything and he tossed 3.5 million down the sewer but he must believe the projections.

Looks to me like an interesting position. 15% dividend--if it never goes up or down it's 8 times better than a 10 year treasury GLTA

    • You continue to show your ignorance and lack of understanding of the stock market. My post only referenced the quote posted from the article, NOT anything related to Seeking Alpha, except to the generic quote. Read it again, and, before you call anyone "stupid" and "with no realistic working brains" (I don't know how you came up with that one) realize that your posts are mostly obtuse, inane, and totally lacking in substance. Put that in your hat and smoke it.

      LOL

    • I have a question for you, Wesley Edens bought 790,000 shares at $4.55 a share on Sept.22, why do you think he bought, I would say he thinks the company is going to make pretty good money the next few months.

    • Just stupid people here with no realistic working brains.
FORGET all that stupid websites even like Seeking Alpha.
It is just to get people doing much as possible trades to get max profit for brokers.

Think again: how much 'experts' are there on Seeking. Each other is an 'expert'. They are advantaging the stock because the own itself also. Nothing more than that.

NEWCASTLE NOW: The company is not really capable of making profits last quarters after they bought back loans against sharp dicounts. For making money they point to the stockholder 2 TIMES!! this year already with similar POOR! 2nd and 3th quarter results.

Newcastle lost its glance this year i think and i want to see how this company can survive.

There i split my position and enter into NRF.

    • Youall did see that Wesley Edens bought 790,000 shares at $4.55 a share on Sept 22, he thinks the company is going to do pretty good.

    • The price is where it is because NCT STOMPED it to 4.55 back in September with 29 million shares and did not do anything with the money prior to their latest earnings CC.

I expect price won't go far until divi announcement in December...at which point I'll be sending 1/2 my position back to the market. You can curse me when the time comes :-)
