This is a sad day. Although I have never voted for Senator Wellstone, and cannot ever envision myself voting for someone who espouses his agenda, I still feel that his loss is profound. I see Wellstone as the counterbalance to the Jesse Helmsian faction, the far lefthand tail of the normal distribution. I hope that someone either now in the Senate, or soon to be elected will step into that antagonistic role, thus balancing the "moralistic" fascism that emerges at the far rightmost tail of the bell curve. Regardless of personal leanings, we all must admit that Senator Wellstone was a man of conviction, who led with, and voted with, his heart and emotion. It will be interesting to see who fills the void he has left.
As far as the subject of this board goes, I think MDT is poised to make a good run. If the bears continue to prowl, I think we'll be flat. If the market goes up, I think we'll double the rate of increase. No technical analysis here, folks, just a gut feel.
