One more item-
7. The two week period in which STJ doubles will most likely begin immediately after I finally give up and sell my shares.
I don't even pretend to know any more what will
make this issue move. I've been saying to myself for
years St. Jude will profit nicely when they're bought
out; and I think for awhile the BOD was leaning in
that direction. But their recent moves indicate their
intentions to go it alone.
I'm like you, my plans
are to hang on. For some reason they haven't been
able to get it together. Can you imagine the poor
souls who are in the company stock purchase plan?
A few comments:
1.I agree, when stj was
single product with high margins things were
great.
2.Diversification has not gone well over last 5 years due to poor
management.
3.STJ has lots of cash and decent
earnings.
4.The small multiple, means that either STJ's stock
will catch up or someone will buy them for accretive
earnings. I believe that the stock price will eventially
catch up.
5.I have been in this stock for 9
years, the opportunity lost with my money tied up is
tragic, but as stupid as it sounds, I am going to ride
this one out.
6.My prediction, is that when STJ
finally moves, it will double in a two week time period.
I may be 100 years old when this happens but I am
still waiting.
Again, mark my prediction, STJ
will double in a two week period of time sometime in
the next ten years. (quote date 1-14-2000). Don't
worry, I'll keep you posted.
hng.
when are earnings released ?
does anyone expect a surprise to the upside or the announcement of new strategic relationships?
Thinking about sell STJ at a loss and buying MDT. This would establish a paper loss for next year's taxes and if sector gets hot, both MDT and STJ will go up. Already own GDT. Any comment?
MDT is up 30% since mid Dec. STJ is like an old dog. It just lays there.
also keep your STJ. GTD is a little overbought and might have problems. Future is looking better for STJ, earnings and revenues are on target.
