Today (01/14/13) in excess of 3,000 for March and 5,500 for June opened.
For those of you who are not close to what this means. Approximately 850,000 shares of CIM are being controlled for a price that is 25 cents/share out of the money.
On top of being out of the money a premium was paid for the March calls. 10 cents. Translation, stock has to move to $3.10 before this trade is profitable.
When this thread commenced I believe CIM was trading somewhere between $2.70 and $2.80.
Obviously the call and put volume was a very bullish indicator. Just two weeks have lapsed and call purchases are now profitable and it looks like the short put sales will expire.
A whole lot of leveraging turned out right for some people.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Those who sold are probably in a covered position. (own stock sell call). If it runs past $3 annualize there return and you will see it's very impressive.
Those who bought have the potential for a home run (as in out of Yankee Stadium). Runs to $6 they can buy for three.
For those who sold covered calls an excellent rate of return.
