Hey Andrew Clark, please move from La Jolla to Iowa and forget about this WASC nonsense!!!!!!
Andrew Clark, BPI's CEO, has at the helm of BPI successfully whacked billions off BPI's market cap. Did he do so just so he can live in La Jolla, CA (a well-heeled suburb of San Diego) instead of somewhere in "Ashford country" like Iowa or Colorado?!? What other reason would there possibly be for subjecting the company to the WASC (west coast regional accreditation agency) nightmare when it would be FAR EASIER to achieve the HLC's (midwest/rocky mtn regional accreditation agency) "geographic presence" requirement. BPI is sitting on an absolute MOUNTAIN of cash. Spend some of it and get thee to Iowa. Or Denver. Or Englewood (a well-heeled suburb of Denver) or anywhere in HLC's region. Just imagine what a mansion each of the senior execs at BPI could afford in a place like Las Vegas. Why oh why would anyone want to live in red-tape and tax-happy Cal-i-for-n-i-ay anyway?!? Side Note: I rate BPI as a BUY because it seems even these swell La Joll-ian symphony and country club folk should be able to figure out a way to use their mountain of cash to fix the accreditation mess they have created, whether that is by hiring enough august and well-respected folk like Dr. Richard Pattenaude (newly hired President of Ashford University) and/or hiring some full time faculty and locating them in HLC territory if WASC continues to take a hard line against for profit and on-line centric schools.
