PULASKI, Tenn. -- An auto parts sealing plant announced plans Tuesday to expand its facility in Pulaski, bringing about 250 jobs by 2012.
Saargummi of Tennessee officials said in a news release that they will expand their plant by 68,000 square feet by the first quarter of 2012.
The company began production in 2000 with Mercedes as a major customer, according to officials. Since then, Volkswagen, BMW and Freightliner now get their supplies from Saargummi.
The new construction is expected to be complete by October.
Individuals interested in employment opportunities with the company should go to the Tennessee Career Center at 125 South Cedar Lane in Pulaski and inquire about Work Keys Testing. Once testing is complete, individuals should apply to Staffmark at 1197 West College Street in Pulaski.
It's astonishing to see the automotive industry growth in TN. As a long time supplier to the auto Tier ones/twos etc we were accustomed to working mainly in Michigan,Ohio,Indiana etc. Today, we do a real chunk of business in TN. And when the VW plant opens in TN and the Toyota plant goes online in northern Mississippi we expect even more. Appreciate your post and that Staffmark is involved. Add in Fox Shox/Ford programs and Compass doing OK in auto!
