Why do the say that the "company has not been the same since" Massoud left? It's true that the market reacted negatively to his absence, but as far as I can see the company carries on in exactly the same way.
Just my opinion Yard Bird, I agree with you as far as business as usual, & I also agree with others, a Co. just isn`t the same when proven leadership drags up. I haven`t seen any results from the Staffmark sell off(profit for shareholders). I know they bought into Ergo & Camelback, maybe I`m looking for results to soon?
We keep getting the dividend, which is enough profit-sharing for me.
The Ergo and Camel Bak acquisitions are extremely smart in my opinion; New parents and outdoor enthusiasts are willing to pay premium prices for these kind of products. It's true that there's a lot of competition (as with any business, except the government :)), but it's still a high margin business in which a brand name makes a huge difference. The aim, of course, is to grow the business and sell at a profit, and Compass has a good track record in that regard.
