    Is MPW growing too fast?

I could not help when listening too the conference call that the management seem predominantly focused on recent and future acquisitions. The actual underlying performance of the existing business seemed to be a side issue.

Additionally, do they really need to expand internationally? It just seems that the management is raising the risk profile of MPW with its hectic M&A activity.

    Sentiment: Hold

    • is there a riskier health care market to invest in today than the U.S. market? why continue down a road of virtual uncertainty when you can diversify into a region of more certainty and opportunity without Obama and the Democrats to worry about? While I have consistently (over the years) praised MPW for its work in building a portfolio of NECESSARY service facilities, and while such opportunities still exist, AND while the demographics here are NO DOUBT favorable to continued success from an ownership perspective here, providers will continue to get tested by those in power at the Fed govt level who do not feel the compassion or need to care for our seniors...sad, but very true. Those who have paid in for many years are the ones getting screwed by changes in Medicare & SS. Fortunately, MPW is diversified - as well - ACROSS SERVICE AREAS WITHIN THE HEALTHCARE SECTOR. But, adding some overseas properties to an already impressive portfolio seems very prudent to me. But, just my opinion...
